Landscape with figures, oil on canvas, 19th‑century Dutch impressionist painting, 123 cm by 90 cm, hand‑signed.
Description from the seller
This is a painting signed at the bottom right, S. Adams.
This painter, surely originally from the Netherlands, must have been an exponent of early Impressionism, since this painting dates from the late 19th century. In fact, it is characterized by dense craquelure and a dark canvas at the back. It does not require restoration.
It is an oil on canvas. Measurements: 123 cm x 90 cm. It is not framed. It is a work of great impact and of large size.
In the background there are windmills typical of the Netherlands, while in the foreground there are cows and a meadow. In the distance, bathed in the morning light, a city can be glimpsed.
All is depicted with an impressionist style and great skill. See, for example, the rows of trees and, on the left, the herds. The artist, who surely deserves further study, must have been very capable and undoubtedly learned the impressionist “lesson” at an early stage.
It will be shipped with extreme professionalism through the services of "Mail Boxes etc." It cannot be shipped to the United States of America.
