Gilliard Bressan - Liquid Alchemy - XL

Liquid Alchemy is a visual reclamation of the South American landscape. This series subverts the historical narrative of extraction, where the land was looted for gold and silver, by transforming its most vital resources into the very precious metals that once drove conquest.

By rendering rivers in radiant gold and the sea in deep metallic blue, the work reveals a fundamental truth: the continent’s real "gold" is not hidden in the soil, but flowing on the surface. These are the world’s true lifelines: a currency of survival that far outvalues the minerals we have historically died for.
