Description from the seller
O for Okuda — The Artphabet
Edition 2/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by digital artist Cess, in which each letter of the alphabet pays homage to key figures in contemporary art and visual culture.
In this piece, the letter O is transformed into a tribute to Okuda San Miguel, reinterpreting his unmistakable geometric and polychrome language. The typography adopts a faceted structure composed of multiple triangular planes, where color fragments into a vibrant explosion that defines its visual identity.
The exterior surface of the letter is built using a broad and saturated palette — pinks, blues, greens, yellows, and oranges — arranged in geometric patterns that create a sense of dynamism, energy, and contemporaneity. This treatment directly recalls the urban and muralist aesthetic characteristic of the artist.
In contrast, the interior of the form presents a dark space speckled with luminous points, evoking a cosmic or introspective dimension. This duality between explosive exterior and deep interior introduces a conceptual reading about identity, perception, and the contrast between what is visible and what is hidden.
Tridimensionality reinforces the sculptural character of the piece, translating Okuda’s mural language into a digital object that occupies space with physical presence and defined volume.
The work was created through a completely digital 3D process (CGI), modeled by hand with special attention to geometry, color, and the interaction of light on the faceted surfaces, achieving a precise, vibrant, and highly contemporary aesthetic.
The Artphabet has enjoyed wide international resonance, being disseminated in numerous design, art, and visual culture outlets, and establishing itself as one of the most prominent artistic-typography projects in the recent digital landscape.
Cess is an artist specializing in digital art, CGI, and artificial intelligence, with an established track record in the creative sector, having collaborated with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue, and MTV, among others.
The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on poly/cotton canvas, ensuring excellent color reproduction, detail, and volume of the original digital work.
