Sculpture by Javi Villarroel Seoane titled Afrodita, made of steel with a black and silver finish, measuring 60 x 39 x 14 cm, hand-signed, 2026, Spain, installation hooks included.
Description from the seller
The sculptor Javi Villarroel Seoane reinterprets in this work the goddess Aphrodite, timeless symbol of beauty, love and harmony, taking her into a deep dialogue between the classical and the contemporary.
Her complex craft does not go unnoticed: the sculpture is built from dozens of pieces with labyrinthine shapes, assembled with precision and elaborated individually, revealing a meticulous and profoundly artisanal process. Each fragment not only occupies a physical space but also fulfills a narrative function within the whole, generating a sense of organic movement and constant transformation.
The play of light and shadow becomes an essential element of the work: it not only accentuates the volumes, it adds dynamism where perception changes according to angle and light intensity. This interaction gives the piece a living presence, capable of dialoguing with the viewer in every glance.
Beyond its visual impact, the work invites reflection on the fragmentation of beauty in contemporaneity: a reconstructed Aphrodite from multiple perspectives, suggesting that perfection does not reside in classical unity, but in the complexity and diversity of its parts.
