I am Ed Mittendorf, an artist aged 84, working under the name Mivillage, and I lived, worked, and exhibited for 18 years in France. I now live and work permanently in the Netherlands.
My works were designed back then in the "NUL" style from the 1960s, when artists Arnando, Jan Henderikse, Henk Peters and Jan Schoonhoven became known internationally the style "ZERO".
These new series of small reliefs are made with cardboard and painted with a self-developed coarse textured paint, and the motifs are handmade; the regular motifs are precisely "not exact", which characterizes the uniqueness of the works.
