Description from the seller
Lodewijk - Busing, born 1965, Maastricht
The painting shows an extremely detailed, realistic portrait of a cat. The cat is centrally positioned and lies in a relaxed, yet vigilant posture on a wooden plank. The forepaws hang gracefully over the edge, resting lightly crossed. The cat gazes at the viewer with large, bright eyes, giving the work a lively and expressive character.
The frame is housed in a striking, robust frame. The massive layered structure of the dark wood gives the whole piece a monumental appearance. The lighter cream-colored inner edge (the inlay) functions as a visual bridge between the heavy frame and the soft colors of the panel, thereby accentuating the light in the painting.
The painting is signed HS Hultman; this is his second pseudonym under which he freely signs his other paintings, often also seascapes or kittens. His other pseudonym is CH van Dijk, known for his bird paintings.
The painting is carefully packed and shipped with insured value.
