Cornelis Groeneveld (1882-1952) - Haven Dordrecht

The lot concerns a painting by Cornelis Groeneveld (Schiedam 1882 - Leiden 1952).
Groeneveld lived and worked mainly in Rotterdam.
He was a pupil of the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam.
He painted still lifes, landscapes and figure studies.

This lot concerns a wonderful and colorful impressionist depiction of the port of Dordrecht around 1920, with the large church in the background.

The dimensions of the painting are 60 x 50 cm. It is hand-signed at the lower right.
The painting (oil on canvas) is about 100 years old, but has been fully professionally restored quite recently and given a new varnish layer.
The painting also has a new gilded frame.

The lot is therefore in good condition (certainly considering its age) and can be hung on the wall directly.
