Illustrated with 21 very fine etchings (with serpents captioned), initials and engraved ornaments by André Lambert.

Binding, very well executed, signed "Semet & Plumelle" in half green morocco (faded). Spine with five fine raised bands. Author, title, date and head gilt.

Apart from the discoloration of the binding leather, the book is in very fine condition; there is a minor rubbing on one raised band, another near the head of the book, and very light scratches on the marbled paper of the boards.

The interior is very fresh.
