Description from the seller
Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Resides in Spain.
This graduate in Fine Arts from the Universidad de Salamanca and Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad de Burgos has had a notable academic formation, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships he carried out in Portugal and Belgium.
His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive chromatic range, as well as by a plastic compositional style, with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.
The subjects he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s all,” following the famous phrase of David Hockney. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large and expansive formats.
This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions at the national level, with a special focus on the north of Spain. For over 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is particularly recognized. He has also won painting prizes both nationally and internationally, which demonstrates his talent and recognition in the artistic field.
Recently, he won the prize at the III Motril Art Contest. 2024.
In addition to his presence in exhibitions, his works are part of multiple private collections around the world. This shows that his work is not only appreciated by the general public but also by collectors and art lovers who value his unique style and technical skill.
In short, this graduate in Fine Arts and Audiovisual Communication has developed a distinguished artistic career, focused on oil painting, acrylic, digital art, paper and watercolor. His work is characterized by a rich chromatic range, a plastic compositional style, and unusual perspectives. With numerous exhibitions and awards at national and international levels, his work is part of private collections around the world.
