Louis Poupon (1907-1970) - Borgo

Louis Poupon, French Painter (1907-1970)
In the 1930s he attended the Académie Julian in Paris. He was the teacher of Serge Voisard and he was one of the founding members of the Society of Painters and Sculptors of the Jura (SPSJ). He worked particularly with the painter Léon Prêtre (1860-1936).

Note: On the back of the frame there is a date: "7 May 1944". It probably refers to the year in which the work was purchased, or, given the artist's presence in Italy, could be the year of creation.
