Description from the seller
Over the work:
Series of 4 abstract works.
Tension and balance No. 2 of 4 - structural abstract pop sculpture in porcelain - neon colors
A minimalist/constructivist piece with pop aspects
This abstract series explores the intersection between physics and organic form. Through the series “Tension & Balance,” I materialize invisible forces through a deliberate contrast: the warmth and neutrality of porcelain against the vibrant intensity of neon threads.
The threads, acting as lines of force, not only fulfill a structural function but also work as "visual accelerators." By using neon, I introduce a chromatic tension that dynamizes the piece, creating a radical contrast between the organic and the artificial, between the calm of porcelain and the electric energy of color. This "drawing in space" vibrates across the piece, turning the sculpture into an object that seems to capture static energy.
Technique and Aesthetics
The choice of neon-toned threads is a technical and conceptual decision: the light that seems to emanate from the color acts as an axis that cuts through and organizes the volume. It is an invitation to see the structure as something alive, contemporary, and full of vitality.

About the artist:
María Eugenia Piacentini (Buenos Aires, 1981), self-taught
from a very young age, feels a vital need to create and recreate
space without time limits, fascinated by materializing
what she visualized only in her mind.
She wanted to study plastic surgery, but ultimately trained
in Applied Arts to Sculpture at the Escuela de Arte La Palma
in Madrid and at the Francisco Alcántara Ceramic School,
after working in characterization and makeup for special effects
for theater and cinema. Today she sculpts her pieces
with surgical precision and dazzling delicacy
according to a Barcelona art critic.
She has exhibited individually and collectively in Mallorca,
Madrid, Teruel, Valladolid, Zaragoza, Ourense, Rome,
Miami, Paris, Zurich, Singapore, Coburg and Munich, with four
honors as a finalist in ceramic work in Spain and in Australia (CERCO, Beatiful Bizarre Art Magazine) and one of her most famous pieces, “Wolf light,” will participate in the Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale in South Korea, to be exhibited at the Ceramic Museum of Korea until February 2027.
Piacentini: “Art wakes us from a deep dream, flinging us free and conscious into a world that normally doesn’t seem so.” Influenced by Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell and surrealism, she uses ceramics for its spontaneity, letting the work flow on its own, perhaps pursuing or confessing existential doubts.
