Description from the seller
I am a visual artist based in Spain, and KromaTiK is my alter ego. The name KromaTik, or Kroma, as my friends usually call me, refers to the use of color as an artistic act. As Kroma I prefer to remain anonymous.
Based in Barcelona, from my studio and creative laboratory I have been developing my most personal work, projects, and collaborations with brands for over 20 years. I have worked for brands such as Cervezas Alhambra, TotCor, Raima, Diputación de Barcelona, Grup ATRA, Sr. Martín, and Therapyside, among others.
I hold a degree in Fine Arts, a master’s in communication and marketing focused on art, and a Higher Diploma in Plastic Arts and Design in Textile Art. I earned the Pedagogical Aptitude Certificate, where I combine my passion for painting (which I work on 90%) with teaching (10%), especially in social work contexts, as I consider the importance of art in less privileged environments: "art can transform people’s mindset, and it is people who can improve the world." I enjoy teaching art, also because it forces me to leave the studio and engage with people, to create real connections and reflect them in my pictorial work.
I have exhibited in galleries such as Ola Gallery in Barcelona and La Panartería, specialized in urban and contemporary art in Madrid. I have also shown work at Creatitis Gallery in Madrid and Casa Panot in Barcelona. I exhibited in Berlin at BCM Art Contemporary Laboratory. My work has also been part of the exhibition at the National Museum of Ceramics and Decorative Arts ‘González Martí’ in Valencia.
I explore urban art, installation, and mural painting. I have created several large-format walls in Madrid and Barcelona.
I have participated in numerous urban art festivals such as Pintamalasaña and CALLE in Madrid, winning the poster design prize in 2024. I have also taken part in CI Urban Fest in Madrid and FemFabrik in Barcelona. I have received various mentions, and my collectors are around the world: France, Belgium, Spain, the United States, Portugal, and Germany.
Before studying Fine Arts, I came from the world of mathematics and physics, so topics like the cosmos and the universe, science, and human and universal connections greatly interest me.
Although I come from a classic, figurative academic education from the University of Fine Arts, what I enjoy is working with abstract art because it forces me to paint without paying too much attention to what appears on the canvas, embracing and taking advantage of accident. It is gestural and intuitive painting that connects with my most primal and authentic self. I usually work in series; it helps me organize emotions and feelings.
I am inspired by films like "Contact" or "Interstellar" and they directly influence my painting with their aesthetics and their vision of dystopian futures that ignite my imagination. Artists who have influenced my plastic language include Joan Miró, Hilma af Klint, Sonia Delaunay, and Kandinsky.
I like to create connections with my clients; I believe it is the way to close the circle between artist and collector, where the energy of the collective is transformed and gives meaning to the act of creation.
This work explores human and universal connections through a dance of brushstrokes, textures, and colors, creating a vital flow. The Dialogue between Humanity and Nature manifests in a deep connection, harmony, and cosmic chaos between the human being and everything that surrounds us.
Technique: Mixed media: acrylic, spray, waxes. There are no prints.
The indicated measurements refer to the canvas. When mounted on a stretcher, the mounting dimensions will be smaller.
The artwork is delivered without a frame (professional packaging, rolled in a tube).
Painting created through free improvisation. Hand-signed on the back. Includes certificate of authenticity.
