Kai Clements
Kai Clements (aka Kai & Sunny), born in 1975, is a UK-based artist. He studied at the Epsom School of Art in Surrey, where he earned a high honors degree in art and design.
Kai & Sunny’s works are characterized by vibrant color palettes, fluid movements, and meticulously layered compositions. Achieved in acrylic on linen and pen on archival paper, each piece is instantly recognizable and reveals a subtle balance between precision and spontaneity, giving Kai’s practice a unique visual signature.
The name Kai & Sunny carries a strong ethos of collaboration with other artists, emphasizing the collective. This approach unites talents around the idea of “unity” and allows the artist to grow and flourish continually.
Through his membership in the collective, Kai Clements (Kai & Sunny) has collaborated with Tiffany & Co, on music projects with Toydrum (soundtrack to Slow Horses) and on narrative projects with author David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas). Collaborating with artists and exploring different domains of innovation and expression enriches the unique workflow to which Kai attaches great importance.
Kai & Sunny have exhibited worldwide, notably in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, Paris and London, and their works have been shown at the Haunch of Venison gallery. Their works are part of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s print collection.
