Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora Authentic Fake" - 12/30
The only Fake truly authentic!
After the undeniable success of the series "Aurora Borealis" often copied and on the verge of censorship under the pretext of "counterfeiting", the artist Pope returns with an even freer and more provocative creation.
Since luxury brands want to muzzle artistic expression, here is the flamboyant thumbs-up: Aurora Authentic Fake.
A unique Pop Art lamp, where you can read in full letters "DO NOT BUY" and "FAKE"… Not to put it mildly, an invitation to bid!
By day, a chromed bear with futuristic shine.
By night, an explosion of multicolored auroras that light up your walls.
Two faces, one same irony.
Limited edition of 30 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
Fast and careful shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper and reinforced box) with signature on delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (steady, fading transitions, simple transitions)
- Power via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
- Depth: 9 cm
A collectible object that twists censorship into art, turning the “Aurora Authentic Fake” into a true original.
Who is Pope?
Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe supported by a practice of visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and amazed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name but a few.
Whether as a gift, a memory or part of your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his urban art passion through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited edition or not), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sports, sneakers...),
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope enjoys mischievously twisting labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective puts all its efforts into ensuring that all information necessary to appreciate the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unjustified complaint will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
