Castellini e Masini - Vase - Majolica

Traditional Faenza ceramic vase. This vase was made by the Castellini & Masini workshop brand (often abbreviated CC.M.), active in Faenza roughly between 1923 and 1956.
The decoration:
acanthus palm medallion: In the center stands a large, symmetrically arranged floral motif inspired by the Renaissance. It is composed of curled acanthus leaves in cobalt blue, shades of yellow, ochre, and ramina green. At the heart of the motif there is a blazing fan (or radiating rays). The background of this panel is entirely decorated in a 'finto canestro'—a dense field of blue dots—that makes the central design stand out.
