Medsan’s 40 × 60 cm giclée titled Goldorak Waterfall (江戸グレンダイザーの滝), hand signed, 2026, limited edition, mounted on a wooden stretcher.
Description from the seller
With this portrait-format work (40 × 60 cm), Medsan orchestrates an epic and contemplative fusion between one of the greatest symbols of 1970s anime culture and the Japanese landscape tradition. This giclée features a giant robot with unmistakable Goldorak/Grendizer traits, standing impassive at the heart of a majestic mountain waterfall.
The visual impact of the composition lies in the masterful integration of this metal colossus within the raw forces of nature. The robot does not fight; it appears to engage in a form of meditation beneath the waterfall (takigyo), anchored like an ancient guardian. The torrents pour and run fluidly over its dark armor and its imposing golden horns, creating a striking contrast between the indestructible machine and the ever-moving liquid element. The stylized foam at its base emphasizes the power of the current.
The impact of the composition is enhanced by a palette of natural, muted colors, dominated by slate blues, forest greens, and the bright white of the foamy water. The bold line, the depiction of rock, and the drawing of twisted pines clinging to the cliffs scrupulously follow the codes of ukiyo-e prints, recalling the famous cascades of Hokusai. The traditional vertical cartouche at the top right, on a brick-red background, houses the artist’s signature in katakana (メドサン) and seals this temporal encounter.
A conceptual piece, at once aesthetic, nostalgic, and deeply soothing, ideal for adding a pop, geek, and majestic touch to a stylish, contemporary interior.

About the Workshop:
Atelier Joconde is a workshop of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true hub of artistic production, the workshop operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family adventure. Le Yack, contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work influenced by cinema and realism. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive pursuit, blending abstract art, brut art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the workshop, with a shared artistic standard and a distinct identity for each artist.
