MEDSAN’s 2026 limited edition vertical giclée Digital Koan (デジタルの公案) – Minecraft, mounted on a wooden frame, hand-signed and numbered, 60x40 cm, produced in France with an official certificate and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
High-quality giclée print mounted on a wooden stretcher - Hand-signed and numbered - 2026
Signed work by Medsan, artist member of Atelier Joconde, known for bold stylistic fusions and subversions of cultural icons.
In this witty creation titled “The Digital Koan,” Medsan orchestrates an improbable and humorous meeting between the millennial spirituality of Japan and one of the biggest phenomena of contemporary video game culture. Offered as a vertical-format high-quality giclée print, this composition stands out for its perfectly controlled visual anachronism.
The scene unfolds in the absolute calm of a karesansui, a traditional Zen dry garden. A Buddhist monk, rake in hand, interrupts his active meditation, visibly puzzled, scratching his head. At the center of the meticulously drawn sand waves, in place of the classic contemplative rock, sits a massive cube-shaped block of earth and grass, directly drawn from the Minecraft video game universe. This aesthetic clash between the softness of Ukiyo-e lines, aged parchment-like hues, and the rigid geometric voxel 3D creates a striking contrast. The work invites a playful reflection on our modern world: virtual construction versus contemplation of nature.
The artist’s signature “Medsan” is delicately integrated in Japanese characters (katakana) in a classic cartouche located at the top right (メドサン).
A narrative, humorous and philosophically offbeat piece, ideal for a collector who loves Pop Art, gaming culture, and revisited Japanese prints.

About Atelier Joconde:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living, diverse contemporary creation. Located and functioning as a true artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Alongside him, Medsan explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive pursuit, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, realized and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
