Description from the seller
MiLo – “Floras Negras No. III”
A work by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
Part of the artist’s ongoing botanical series, Floras Negras No. III transforms floral forms into bold abstract silhouettes. Reduced to stark black structures against a warm off-white background, the composition balances between plant life, symbols, and graphic mark-making. The oversized bloom forms create a rhythm across the surface, while splashes, scratches, and irregular gestures introduce a raw, energetic tension.
The painting combines a primitive immediacy with a contemporary minimalist aesthetic. The dark floral shapes appear almost monumental — somewhere between tulips, tribal emblems, and urban graffiti — allowing the work to shift between botanical reference and abstraction.
The painting will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box for safe international delivery. A signed certificate of authenticity is included. The canvas can easily be stretched or framed by a local framer according to personal preference.
