Silver gelatin print on baryta paper, 23.5 x 18.5 cm, lower right with an embossed signature stamp "Photographed by Eugene Robert Richee".

Condition: age-related condition - creases in the image corners as well as handling and storage marks. The images are part of the condition description.

Eugene Robert Richee (1896–1972) was an influential American photographer of the classical Hollywood era, best known for his iconic studio portraits for Paramount Pictures. As the studio's chief portrait photographer, he significantly shaped the visual image of numerous film stars in the 1920s and 1930s.

Particularly famous are the photographs of Marlene Dietrich, which Richee staged with a lighting approach that was unusual at the time. His photographs are characterized by strong chiaroscuro, precisely placed highlights, and sculptural modeling of the face.
