Choshitsusansainatsume 彫漆三彩棗(ちょうしつさんさいなつめ) | Shusui 秋水(しゅうすい)
This is a Natsume certified as a Japanese traditional craft product. It is a work of Murakami Tsuishu, a specialty of Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture. Black lacquer is layered on a wooden base, and after carving the plum blossom parts, they are divided into uncolored Shiroume (white plum) and Kobai (red plum) painted with vermilion lacquer, depicting Kohakubai (red and white plum blossoms).
Artist Profile:
As a traditional craftsman, the artist produces daily miscellaneous utensils including vases, trays, and small plates, while also producing tea utensils such as Natsume and incense containers upon request from people involved in the tea ceremony.
