The surface of the works is a true architecture of materials. Plaster, acrylic, and natural pigments fuse into a thick, textured paste, creating a tactile topography that evokes ancient geological formations and landscapes eroded by time. The lower band is dominated by a deep, earthy brown, slowly fading into a golden ochre and then into a cold, ethereal light, like a sky at dawn.

The beating heart of the work is the insertion of the color gold, which shines and fragments into luminous shards, like traces of a forgotten past or nuggets of light hidden in the earth’s depths. Gold is not mere decoration but a structural element that interacts with ambient light, creating a play of reflections and shadows that transforms the surface of the canvases into a dynamic, evolving visual experience.

Giusy Curto Pelle is a young entrepreneur. She practices her main profession in the artistic field, being a doctor in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, but she has always harbored a deep interest in exploring her own artistic and expressive form.

She began her training by enrolling at the Filippo Juvara Art Institute of San Cataldo, choosing the experimental path in Cataloging and Relief of Cultural Heritage. After obtaining her diploma, she decided to continue her studies by enrolling at the University of Palermo, at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences, following the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage course.

Her love for the artistic world from a creative perspective, from which she had been distant for several years, has brought her back to approach this sector again. Her current artistic research moves toward the right union of tradition and innovation in search of her own artistic language.

In her works one can see the presence of traditional techniques, materials, and subjects elaborated in a modern key with a contemporary style and language.

Her material research and study continually lead her to perform numerous experiments; we see, in fact, the use of flat or graduated color interwoven with patches of material painting, which creates marks on the canvas almost to forge a new texture, in relief, often highlighted by the use of metallic leaves.

The canvases will be shipped with the frame and carefully packaged for safe transport.
They will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
