Description from the seller
In two consecutive original pages (layout/pencils) by the British master Simon Bisley for the series "13 Coins", published by Titan Comics. These pages come from issue 2 of the angelic-dystopian saga created by Martin Brennan and Michael B. Jackson.
Artwork details:
Author: Simon Bisley.
Series: 13 Coins #2.
Technique: Pencils on drawing paper. Characteristic "Biz" style with a masterful use of chiaroscuro and hyper-detailed anatomy.
Content:
Page 4: An atmospheric scene in a venue ("Dragon Garden") with excellent close-ups of the protagonists.
Page 9: A pure action sequence with the kidnapping of the protagonist, complete with hand-drawn sound effects ("SKREEEEE!").
Support: The pages are mounted on a black protective board, as is often the case for Bisley works intended for galleries or private collectors.
Story details (13 Coins #2)
The Protagonist: The pages feature John Pozner, a troubled man who discovers he is the key to an ancient war between exiled angels (the Son of Gods) and humanity’s guardians.
The Venue Scene (Page 4): We see John in a moment of tension in the "Dragon Garden". Bisley uses these panels to build the sense of paranoia surrounding the protagonist before his life is upended.
Kidnapping (Page 9): This is a pivotal sequence in the issue. John is assaulted and dragged away by figures in tactical gear, a scene that showcases Bisley's ability to manage "controlled chaos" and violent movement.
These pages are particularly significant because they represent the turning point of issue #2: the shift from the tense calm of the book’s first part to the explosive violence of Pozner’s kidnapping. Having two pages from the same issue allows appreciation of Bisley’s narrative layout continuity.
dimensions 25.5 x 35.5 cm including black mounting board
