Silver candij dish on four claw feet and with hinged dragon-eye motifs. The ajour updated contoured rim is provided with scroll and leaf motifs.

Approved with the city mark of Amsterdam, the year letter Z and an unknown master mark. It concerns pseudoknives (Citroen #429 and #387) to give the dish an older appearance.

In the 19th century there was a strong demand, especially from England, for antique silver. In this way the demand was met. It is still real silver and these items have now become antiques again.

Zilveren kandijbakje of amandelbakje op vier klauwpootjes en met scharnierende draagoogjes. De ajour bewerkte gecontourneerde rand is voorzien van krul- en bladmotieven.

Gekeurd met het stadsmerk van Amsterdam, de jaarletter Z en een onbekend meesterkeur.&nbsp; Het gaat hier om pseudokeuren (Citroen #429 en #387) om het bakje een ouder uiterlijk te geven.&nbsp;

In de 19e eeuw was er veel vraag, vooral uit Engeland, naar antiek zilver. Op deze manier werd er aan de vraag voldaan. Het gaat nog steeds om echt zilver en inmiddels zijn deze voorwerpen ook weer antiek geworden.
