Description from the seller
Pair of Italian Handcrafted Wrought Iron Lanterns – Neo-Gothic/Rustic Style – 1960s
Exquisite pair of lanterns entirely made of authentic Italian handcrafted wrought iron, dating back to the 1960s. These pieces represent the excellence of mid-century Italian artistic blacksmithing, where every element was hand-forged using traditional techniques.
The design is a clear tribute to the Neo-Gothic and medieval-inspired style, visible in the hexagonal frame and the hand-forged scrollwork surrounding the glass panels. The scalloped "pagoda" roof is finished with a unique heart-shaped finial, a testament to the artisan's attention to detail. The original cathedral glass panels (hammered glass) are perfectly preserved, creating a warm and evocative lighting effect.
Technical Details:
Origin: Italy (High-quality local artisanal production).
Style: Neo-Gothic / Medieval Rustic.
Material: Hand-forged wrought iron and original cathedral glass.
Period: 1960s.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The glass panels are intact; the iron shows a beautiful natural patina and minor signs of age that enhance its authenticity and historical charm.
A rare opportunity for interior designers and collectors to acquire sturdy, elegant, and visually striking pieces, perfect for both classic and mid-century modern settings.
