Renata Giannelli presents NUOVOLA TONDA, a 2026 self‑supporting sculpture in beige, gold and white, made from iron wire, gold leaf, hemp fiber paper pulp, plaster and 120 LED lights powered via USB, 48 × 48 × 25 cm and 2 kg, signed by hand and sold directly from the artist with an authenticity certificate.
Description from the seller
Luminous sculpture created through an organic intertwining of twisted iron wire, traversed by 120 LED light points that animate its internal structure. On the metal framework, hemp fiber paper pulp has been cast, which, during the drying and oxidation process, generated an irregular and vibrant surface, rich in material stratifications and transparencies.
The light, filtering through solids and voids, builds a mutable pattern of shadows and reflections, transforming the sculpture into a living and atmospheric presence. The irregular inserts of gold leaf further amplify the luminous perception, creating precious glints that emerge from the raw material.
The project arises from the meeting of two apparently antithetical elements: iron — cold, rigid, and structural — and paper — soft, warm, and fragile. From their fusion takes shape a new expressive, organic, and metamorphic matter, in which the hardness of the metal is progressively softened by the presence of the fiber, while the paper gains strength and plastic tension.
The structure is self-supporting. The LED lighting is powered via USB output, allowing versatile placement in both domestic and exhibition environments. It is shipped in rigid packaging and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
