Description from the seller
This work is a tribute and a memory. On one of Madrid's main streets there was a time when horse racing took place. It was a social event and today it seems to have been forgotten. A work full of color, memory and nods that, with juxtaposed and superimposed techniques, create a visual, tactile and argumentative richness.
A painting that exceeds its limits with those black circles that stand out and seem to want to flood the entire space. This painting will be able to be mailed starting June 18 for a business trip.
María Burgaz (1970) knew from a very young age that her path was art. She began her training at the Escuela de Artes Decorativas de Madrid, and earned a degree in Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid in the Painting specialty in 1993. Later she completed her studies at FIT in New York.
Winner of competitions such as the Wellington Foundation, Professional Football Foundation, Mujer y Sociedad, Iberdrola-UEX, UNED, Eugenio Hermoso, Gran Casino de Torrelodones…her work, in addition to being part of the collections of these institutions, also appears in the collections of town halls such as Gibraleón, Valdemoro, Martos, Horche, Diputación de Alicante…
She has carried out dozens of solo and group exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, and her work is also found in numerous private collections around the world.
Her hardworking and enthusiastic demeanor has led her to take part in all kinds of projects and to collaborate with designers, writers and everything that allows her to express everything she carries inside. Her work always reveals the stage she lives in, her vitality and her particular sense of humor and way of understanding life, always with mastery of techniques that she combines and juxtaposes to create unique paintings of great narrative and technical richness.
Her works always include an authenticity certificate and when they are canvases they are shipped rolled in a rigid tube for greater safety.
