A set of four inkwells dating from 1850–1900, comprising a brass inkwell on a red veined marble base (9 cm high, 12 x 12 cm), a hand-painted Gien faience inkwell (4.5 x 8 x 8 cm) with base mark, a metal and porcelain inkwell with a plume-holder and ink traces in glaze cracks (8 x 13 x 10 cm), and a glass inkwell with a silvered metal lid (6 x 12 x 12 cm); condition described as fairly good, heavily used with possible minor missing parts.
Description from the seller
Set of four inkstands dating from the late 19th, early 20th century.
- a brass one on a red veined marble base. Height 9 cm. Width 12 x 12 cm. Good condition but marble cracked and glued and missing near one corner. Lid slightly deformed.
- a faience piece from Gien, hand-painted, base stamp. 4.5 x 8 x 8 cm. Small signs of use.
- a metal and porcelain one with a handle for pens. Ink traces in the glaze cracks of the reservoir. 8 x 13 x 10 cm
- a solid glass one with a silvered metal lid (wear and a chip in the glass, see last photo). 6 x 12 x 12 cm
The set will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number. No delivery to the USA or to the Middle East.
