Four-volume first edition (1853) of Mont-Revêche by George Sand, in French, published by Alexandre Cadot, bound in brown half-leather, totaling 1277 pages, with wear and missing pages 343–346 in the final volume.

4 volumes, octavo, half brown morocco, smooth titled spines, corners reinforced with vellum. Initials “G. H” at the foot of the spines.
Original edition of this novel with a family feud flavor, composed at the heart of the conflict between George Sand and her daughter Solange: she inspires the unlikable character Nathalie Dutertre.
Mont-Revêche had first appeared in Le Pays and had a standalone issue at the beginning of 1953. This is the first trade edition. A few copies exist in Holland.
