Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) – “Aurora Ikea Cult” – Ikea - 6/20
When the brand becomes a belief.
Following the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Aurora Original Fake, Aurora Authentic Fake… AMA continues its ironic exploration of contemporary myths, between mass culture, global consumption and the blind trust placed in commercial icons.
“Aurora Ikea Cult” twists the imagery of a universal brand into a luminous, chrome, hypnotic object, almost ritual.
On the front face, the message is clear:
" IKEA ", frozen as a symbol, recognizable above all.
On the sides, the formula asserts itself, unadorned:
" IN / WE TRUST ".
A minimalist, immediate, universal creed.
A contemporary belief engraved in wood.
By day: a chromed, smooth, familiar icon.
By night: a multicolored aurora borealis set the space ablaze.
A brutal contrast between mass consumption and modern devotion.
Limited edition of 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature required upon delivery.
The numbering visible in the photos is shown for example purposes. The delivered work will bear the edition number indicated in this listing.

- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (static, fading transitions, simple transitions)

Who is Pope?
Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a visual arts practice since childhood, a high standard of detail and careful visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wondrous gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether as a gift, a memory or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art and pop art creations (editioned or not), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sports, sneakers...).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope enjoys playfully misusing labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to assess the lot being sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claims can be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
