WWII Swedish Military Brass Matchbox Holder – "Kungl. Göta Pansarlivgarde" – Tank Theme – Maker AXMA Linköping – c. 1943

An original, rare and fully documented piece of military collectibles (WWII Militaria): a monumental desk holder for large (fireplace/household) matchboxes, made of solid brass in Sweden during World War II.

Side Text: On the side is embossed the official name of the unit: "KUNGL. GÖTA PANSARLIVGARDE" (Royal Göta Pansarlivgarde, the legendary P 1 tank regiment of Sweden).

Front Graphic: On the top it features the Royal Coat of Arms of Sweden with the two heraldic lions and the shield of the three crowns (Tre Kronor). Next to it is a detailed engraving of a period military tank, beautifully accented with green enamel, featuring a soldier in the turret holding a flag with the year 1940.

Workshop Mark (Authenticity): The manufacturer's mark is discreetly stamped in the corner: "AXMA Linköping", confirming the authentic Swedish manufacture in the city of Linköping.

Construction: Solid and heavy brass structure, fitted with original spherical feet at the base.

Overall condition good to , the piece is completely original. The brass shows an authentic historical patina and a superb texture of the cast metal. The green enamel has been remarkably preserved.

Important note for shipping (No matches): For safety reasons and in accordance with international courier regulations regarding flammable materials, the piece will be shipped without matches inside. The inner cardboard box (legendary Scandinavian brand Nitedals Fyrstikker) will be sent in the parcel, but it will be completely empty, serving only as a form support for the brass piece.
