Highland Queen is a historic Scottish whisky brand founded in 1893 by Roderick Macdonald. The name is a direct tribute to Mary Stuart (Mary Queen of Scots), who landed at the port of Leith in 1561 and became one of Scotland's most iconic figures.Originally, the core of this blend was composed of Glenmorangie malt (a distillery the company bought in 1918 to guarantee supply). Today, the brand belongs to the French group Picard Vins & Spiritueux, and the heart of the malt used in its expressions comes from the Tullibardine distillery, located in the Highlands.
