Description from the seller
Antique Swiss pocket watch "Argentville" – Cylinder 10 Jewels – Working
A fascinating vintage Swiss pocket watch, dating roughly to the late 19th century or the early decades of the 20th century. It features an elegant white enameled dial with Roman numerals for classic 12-hour reading and a red 24-hour inner scale, a feature especially sought after by collectors. At 6 o'clock is the small seconds subdial.
The case, about 5 cm in diameter and weighing 80 grams, is adorned with refined decorative engravings along the edge and a superb back cover finely chased with floral and scroll motifs in the Liberty/Art Nouveau style. At the center of the case back is a shield intended for a possible monogram, left unengraved.
Inside is the original dust cover bearing the inscription "Cylindre 10 Rubis", indicating a Swiss 10-jewel cylinder movement, typical of high-quality watchmaking of the era. The case also bears the Argentville trademark and the serial number 63301, further attesting to its authenticity and Swiss production.
The watch is functional, but given the object's age, a service is recommended before regular daily use. Recommended service.
A piece of great historical and collecting interest, ideal for enthusiasts of antique pocket watches, collectors, or as an elegant display item. Aesthetic condition consistent with its age.
