Artistic Description
This large-format work by Raphael Béjar is an exceptional example of matérica abstraction from the late 1970s. Under the title "Tapis Tibétain," the artist offers a visual meditation on memory, Eastern spirituality, and the erosion of time.
Technically, the piece stands out for its tactile richness. Béjar uses thick layers of matter with deliberate cracks (craquelure), granting the surface a geological quality, reminiscent of stone or adobe.
It is a work of great physical presence and conceptual charge, ideal for collectors interested in European Informalism and works exploring the tridimensionality of the pictorial support. The excellent documentation on the reverse (signatures and original label) guarantees the authenticity and historical value of this museum piece.
