Gold-plated iron umbrella stand from the mid‑century period (c. 1960–1970), cylindrical body, 55 cm high and 30 cm in diameter, origin Spain, in good used condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
It is a gold-plated iron umbrella stand, a mid-20th-century piece that combines functionality with a bold decorative presence. Its cylindrical, tall body, slightly flared at the mouth, shows that warm, somewhat worn gold finish that only metal worked and aged naturally can offer. The marks, scratches, and patinas of the metal plating do not diminish its beauty: on the contrary, they give it that lived-in air so typical of interior objects from the 1950s–1970s.
The side rings, conceived as decorative handles, provide an almost ceremonial touch, while the four curved legs elevate the piece and give it visual lightness, preventing the cylinder from feeling heavy. That play between solidity and elevation is typical of a reinterpretated neoclassical style, very present in European mid-century décor: clean lines, classical echoes, and a gilding that seeks elegance rather than ostentation.
The ensemble conveys character, presence, and a theatrical edge, perfect for a hallway with personality or a vintage interior that combines warm metals and dark woods.
Insured shipping and careful packaging.
