From the library of television, radio, and music luminary Willem Duys (1928-2011), this is a book about the Greek tragedy dramatist Euripides (5th century B.C.) by the American classicist and writer Erich Segal (1937-2010), who was also responsible for the bestseller Love Story of 1970, that same year adapted to film by Arthur Hiller (1923-2016) with stars Ali MacGraw (b. 1939) and Ryan O’Neal (1941-2023).
In 1968 Erich Segal signed this book for Willem Duys in New York, which he published as a classicist:
Euripides. A Collection of Critical Essays. Edited by Erich Segal – Englewood Cliffs, N.J.: Prentice-Hall, 1968 – 177 pp., paperback
