A pair of brass Art Nouveau candle holders from France, dating to 1960–1970, each measuring 23 cm high with a 10 cm base, in new condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
This object is a vintage brass candlestick with a shaft shaped as an anthropomorphic figure. The structure features a female figure (or a cherub/putto in similar variants) that, with raised arms, supports the candle dish, resting on a base decorated with leafage or floral motifs. A standing sculptural figure, often identified as a lady in Art Nouveau style or a cherub. Brass or bronze, solid, sometimes with an antique or patinated finish. Art Nouveau (early 1900s) or Rococo/Baroque due to the richly decorated base and the sinuous lines. Originally conceived as a single candlestick, many examples of this type have later been electrified to be used as small table lamps.
