Three Silent Hearts
In Three Silent Hearts, the plant form eludes its descriptive function to assume an archetypal dimension. The three artichokes, arranged as autonomous yet dialoguing presences, emerge from the light with a sculptural force that reveals their complex inner architecture. The overlapping leaves, at once shield and refuge, construct a system of thresholds that protects an invisible core, suggesting a reflection on the relationship between vulnerability and resilience.
Through a painting attentive to light, texture, and the rhythm of surfaces, the artist suspends the subject between reality and abstraction, inviting the viewer to contemplate the extraordinary complexity hidden in the most ordinary structures of the natural world.
Sandra Chinelate, Brazilian, works on the physical and existential inquiry conducted with the tools of figurative painting. Trained in literature, and as a child a self-taught artist, she moved to Italy where since 2005 she has pursued an exclusive and intense dialogue with art. Among the numerous group and solo exhibitions she participates in, for her catalog titled "J." of her eponymous solo show, she receives a review from art critic Lea Mattarella.
