Set of 5 objects consisting of bronze and brass with silver plating, steel and Bakelite, dating from 1900–1970 and originating from France and other countries, total weight 1.65 kg, in good general condition with minor wear.
Description from the seller
Set of canisters or candy boxes from various eras and materials. From the early to the last third of the 20th century. Silver-plated bronze, brass, bakelite. France and others.
In generally good condition, though with light wear (see images to get a proper idea of the condition).
It is composed of:
- Pair of offering jars or libation vases in silver-plated bronze. Mid-20th century. France. The pieces show light nicks and wear typical of their age (see images to get a proper idea of the condition). The designs remain in good quality. The larger one weighs 600 grams, measures 11 cm in base diameter and 20 cm high. The smaller weighs 380 grams, measures 7 cm in base diameter and 15 cm high.
- Antique advertising tin for sugar. Commercial metal container for sugar with a fitted lid. Tinplate, either tinplate steel or fine brass. Industrial production. Unenameled interior. Clear signs of natural wear on the gilding of the brass. No penetrating rust. Overall good condition (see images to get a proper idea of the condition). By the typography and decorative style, dating from the late 19th century to the 1920s. British or American market. Flat bottom with no visible brand (very common on pre-1930 tins). Natural patina. Areas of superficial corrosion. Wear consistent with 80–120 years. 300 grams. 10 cm height, 10 cm width and 13 cm length.
- Reeded brass speakeasy tobacco can or jewelry box with reliefs in brass and ends in brass. Early 20th century. Origin: France. The piece shows light nicks and wear typical of its age (see images to get a proper idea of the condition). Weight: 270 grams. Measures 7 cm in base diameter and 10 cm high.
- Brass-spun kitchen spice can with chrome-silver finish, with bakelite stopper, from the 1960s–1970s. France. The piece is in generally good condition (see images to get a proper idea of the condition). The stopper appears to have been glued with some resin. 180 grams. 14 cm high, 9 cm base diameter.
