Sauce boat - .925 silver - George III

This is a fine quality George III sterling silver covered Sauce Tureen, by Richard Carter, Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp, hallmarked for London 1782.

Neoclassical Style, oval body on an oval cast pedestal foot decorated with beading.
The main body rises to a beaded rim and the two scroll side handles are decorated with beading and display acanthus leaves, where they are attached to the main body.
The stepped domed cover is decorated with beading and terminates in a classical urn finial.

Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp were exceptional makers, who were patronized by the King and the Royal Family

Excellent original condition and clear detail, with no damages, repairs, removals or changes.
