HISTORICAL CONTEXT:
This edition concerns a 19th-century printing of the classical States-translation, originally established in response to the Synod of Dordrecht (1618–1619).
Characteristic is the combination of:
The complete Statenbijbel
The official Psalm rendering of 1775
The Evangelische Gezangen (early 19th century)
The Catechism
This makes this Bible edition representative of church and household use within the Dutch Reformed tradition in the 19th century.
CONCLUSION:
A complete and well-preserved Statenbijbel from 1867 in a fine red Bordeaux leather binding, including Psalms, Evangelische Gezangen and Catechism.
An attractive copy for collectors of 19th-century Dutch Bibles, church history, or for those seeking an authentic historical church book with full contents.
