Ralf Altrieth's original 2023 oil and acrylic on canvas titled Here and there - XXXL, 205 × 260 cm, a unique hand-painted work signed at the back and issued with a certificate of authenticity, produced in France.
Description from the seller
A monumental, joyful, and almost cosmic improvisation.
At first glance, Ralf Altrieth's painting seems to erupt in a free and instinctive surge. Then the gaze lingers—and gradually discovers a world more complex, pierced by a tumult of appearances, a freedom inhabited. Nothing is fixed. It is a living chaos, pulsing and evolving constantly according to distance, light, and the time spent before it.
In this universe, the boundary between abstraction and figuration remains deliberately unstable. Unpredictable forms emerge, never settling. The gaze is challenged, set in motion. Seeing becomes an active, almost physical experience.
But beyond their immediate energy, the works of Ralf Altrieth settle durably into space. They settle in through their density. Through their presence. And through this rare ability to transform the space in which they take place.

CRITIQUE AND PRESS:
"In this sense, Ralf Altrieth's pictorial poems are a pure childlike chant. From the crucible of improvisation he conjures a world intact, made of spontaneous joys and strong impulses."
— Dr Friedhelm Häring, art historian and museum director
"His gesture- and color-driven writing describes a world open to new voices and to experiments never attempted. His canvases and works on paper demonstrate that painting remains a major expression of the contemporary scene."
