Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Yves Decaudan’s original acrylic painting La romance d'azur (80 × 60 cm), signed by hand, created in 2026, in excellent condition, depicting a woman reading against a deep ultramarine sea with an ochre landscape, on unframed cotton canvas, France, Fauvisme, with certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Painting featuring a young woman reading, facing a seascape.
The setting unfolds in distinct horizontal bands.
Behind the figure, a wide white surface evokes a sunlit terrace or a low wall.
Above, an immense expanse of ultramarine blue represents the sea, topped in the distance by a band of land or a hill in ochre/orange tones beneath a very reduced sky.
A few touches of dark vegetation also appear in the upper left corner.
The work is dominated by the use of saturated, unmixed colors.
The striking contrast between deep ultramarine blue, the scarlet red of the dress, and the ochre of the hill creates a luminous vibration typical of Mediterranean painting.
Despite the vivid colors, the painting exudes a deep serenity, suspended in time, typical of reading scenes and moments of contemplation before the sea.
Painting by the artist Yves Decaudan - 1954
