Description from the seller
José Cabrera
Gallop on the Golden River, 2026
Oil on canvas, 45 × 65 cm
Signed (lower right)
A work full of movement, light, and emotion. José Cabrera expertly captures the moment when a cowboy gallops at full speed crossing a shallow river at sunset. Water splashes forcefully beneath the horse’s hooves while the sky bursts into intense golden, orange, and pink tones, creating a dramatic and cinematic atmosphere.
The artist achieves an excellent balance between dynamism and lyricism: the rider and his mount convey energy and freedom, while the twilight light bathes the landscape and the water with a nearly magical glow. The loose, expressive brushwork, combined with a warm and vibrant palette, makes this piece one of the most poetic and appealing in his western series.
Medium format (45 × 65 cm), this work has great decorative versatility and a strong visual impact, ideal for both collectors of equestrian and contemporary western art and lovers of emotive landscapes with spectacular light.
“Gallop on the Golden River” is a painting that conveys freedom, adventure, and the beauty of the American West at the end of the day.
