Description from the seller
Wild Presence
Original unique work by Elisabeth Marcadet, French painter renowned for her work in contemporary figurative expressionism
In Wild Presence, Elisabeth Marcadet explores the boundary between the figure and instinct.
The face is at once human and animal, seems to emerge from matter in a vibrant, almost primitive tension.
This enigmatic, powerful, and silent presence evokes inner strength, intuition, and the wild part that lives in us all.
The richness of the material; oil mixed with sand, gives the surface a dense and lively texture, emphasizing the intensity of the work. The contrast between the deep tones of the subject and the incandescent brightness of the background reinforces this impression of emergence, like an apparition where matter becomes language and emotion.
