Description from the seller
Nicole Lubbers has been operating at an international level for many years within the contemporary art world. Her work has been exhibited in cities such as New York, Prague, and this month in Colling. She has exhibited twice on Times Square and earned second place at the World Art Awards. Additionally, she has participated in various international biennales and her work is represented in several galleries across Europe.
With her latest collection, Nicole Lubbers is forging a distinct new artistic path. While her international experience remains tangible, she now consciously opts for quietude, layering, and authenticity. In her recent works, she explores the fragile beauty of memory, fading and emotional resonance.
Working with durable oil paints, acrylics and charcoal, she creates aesthetic compositions that feel like faded manuscripts of memory — intuitive, poetic, and raw at the same time. Her canvases balance between abstraction and recognizability, between stillness and movement. Each work bears traces of emotion, time and human presence.
The works are created on stretched canvas of 50 x 70 cm and are deliberately presented frameless. This preserves the purity of the work and gives collectors the freedom to tailor the artwork entirely to their own interior and experience — both with and without a frame.
For Nicole Lubbers, art is no longer about image alone, but about feeling, memory and matter. Her new series forms an intimate encounter between sustainability, aesthetics and personal expression — a rediscovery of painting and drawing in their most authentic form. This work comes with a certificate of authenticity.
