A solid 925 sterling silver brooch from Greece, weighing 28 g, featuring a single oval cabochon carnelian (41 ct) in a Modernist/Art Nouveau revival design, with no laboratory report.
Description from the seller
Description
An impressive and substantial mid-to-late 20th-century designer brooch crafted in solid 925 sterling silver. The piece features a dramatic, elongated botanical design that beautifully bridges the organic flowing lines of the Art Nouveau revival with the clean structural aesthetics of the Modernist movement.
The crown of the brooch features a large, smoothly bezel-set oval carnelian cabochon displaying a deep, rich reddish-brown translucent hue. The stylized floral stems elegantly taper downward, detailed with small silver accent beads and wrapped structural tendrils near the base.
The reverse of the brooch is fully hallmarked with three clear vertical stamps: an artisan maker's mark featuring a stylized anthemion/palmette motif, a circular workshop registry stamp, and the standard "925" fineness mark . It is equipped with a sturdy pin and a secure rollover safety clasp, designed to properly support its significant weight on heavier fabrics or lapels .
