This animal portrait model stands out for a superb capture of the face of a lioness with a serene gaze slightly turned to the right. The artist has used a very fine brushstroke to capture the fur of the animal, blending ochre, sand, and earth tones with white highlights on the chin and ears. The work includes the author’s signature in the lower right corner of the canvas as well as a handwritten inscription on the reverse that authenticates the title of the piece and its creation date.
