Description from the seller
Title: Red Silence between Earth and Sea
Year: 2026
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 30 x 30 cm
The work presents itself as a lyrical landscape and geometrically structured, characterized by strong chromatic contrasts and an atmosphere of suspended serenity. The composition is divided into well-defined horizontal bands that guide the viewer's eye from the foreground to the horizon line.
The base of the canvas is occupied by a bright green meadow studded with small touches of red recalling poppies. Immediately above, dominates the composition an extensive and vibrant expanse of intense and saturated red, laid with tactile brushstrokes that give volume and texture to the ground, evoking a flowering field or a plowed earth illuminated by grazing light.
The red field yields to, on the left, a hill with a gentle profile, painted in tones of acid green and lemon yellow. On this crest rare stylized and isolated trees sprout. On the right side, resting on the boundary line between red earth and green, rises a typical rustic white house, with a terracotta-tiled roof. The building, geometric and essential, serves as the visual and narrative focal point of the whole composition.
In the background, a strip of sea of deep calm blue separates the land from the sky. On the surface of the water move two slender white sails that emphasize the sense of vastness and idyllic isolation. The upper part of the painting is entirely dedicated to a pale blue sky, serene, crossed by light and tattered white clouds that impart dynamism to the static landscape below.
The artist's style stands out for a formal synthesis close to naïve candor, combined with an expressive use of color. The clear light sharply defines the contours, eliminating superfluous shading to concentrate on the emotional essence of the Mediterranean landscape.
