Ukrainian Soviet painter. People's Artist of Ukraine, Associate Professor at Cherkasy National University “B. Khmelnitsky”, a brilliant representative of the Kiev school of painting, its traditions and the variety of genres. Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. The artist was born on October 1, 1944, in the village of Yazyzor, in Cherkasy region. He graduated from the Odessa Art College, M.B. Grekova and the Kyiv Art Institute, Faculty of Painting (Studio of the People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor V. Shatalin). The artist's art teacher regards as masters the painting of the People's Artist of Ukraine, winner of the T. Shevchenko Prize by Fyodor Zakharov. Since 1975, Ivan Bondar has worked as an artist-painter in the artistic production workshops of Cherkasy. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1985. Ivan Bondar is a regular participant in regional, republican, pan-union and international exhibitions, Ukrainian open-air and international. Over the years of his creative activity, Ivan Bondar has held numerous solo exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. His works are kept in the Ukrainian Art Fund, in many state museums of Ukraine, in private collections in Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, the USA, Nigeria, Australia, Yugoslavia, Canada, Russia and other countries.
