Medsan continues his striking exploration of deconstructed Pop Art with this new square-format work. Following in the wake of the “defragmented” aesthetics popularized by contemporary urban artists like Matt Gondek, this print offers a brutal yet stylized vision of the iconic ninja (shinobi). The artist combines the rigor of Japanese printmaking with the visceral energy of urban art.

The composition freezes the action in mid-flight: a assassin dressed in the traditional dark outfit, face masked, seems struck by an invisible force. His body tears apart with a crash, ripping the fabric to reveal a complex anatomy made of ribs, spine and torn muscle fibers. The impact is materialized by shattering bones, shreds of cloth, and thick curls of black and gray smoke escaping from the wound. The blood-red background, uniform and vibrant, reinforces the graphic violence of the scene and emphasizes the precision of the black line art, recalling both ukiyo-e and the inkwork of comic books.
